27/07/22: VRT NWS -55 suspected victims of human trafficking have been discovered on the large construction site of the chemical company Borealis in the port of Antwerp. They would have received a wage of at most 650 euros per month to work 6 out of 7 days on the construction of a new factory. The Antwerp Labor Prosecution Service is investigating the case. Borealis itself points out that it concerns employees of a subcontractor and asks for “complete transparency”.
