Payoke was the first anti-trafficking NGO in Europe. We work to bring tangible and positive change to the lives of survivors of human trafficking in Belgium. We offer knowledge and resources to help government, civil society and communities recognize and prevent exploitation, and provide support for victims.
Payoke is one of the three support centres authorized by the Belgian government to assist victims of human trafficking. The program we offer, lasting two to three years, is designed to support the victim from identification to the end of the judicial proceedings.
We work with each victim to develop an individual support plan to help them access their rights and rebuild their lives. We help our clients consider options for continuing education and job placement. Victims receive also legal and administrative assistance and psychological counselling.
Payoke runs awareness-raising initiatives and campaigns encouraging involvement from governments, civil society and individuals to inspire action and help prevent modern slavery.
